Frequently
Asked Questions
A hotel gift voucher is a prepaid credit a guest, friend, family member, or corporate buyer can purchase to be redeemed against experiences, treatments, dining, or stays at the hotel. Most hotels handle these with a printed voucher template, a coupon-code plugin, or a spreadsheet the concierge and finance teams reconcile at month-end.
Turneo's voucher product treats each voucher as a bookable product with its own scope (which experiences it redeems against), a live count of uses left, and a lookup page guests can check before they book.
Two shapes today. Single-use vouchers cover one booking against one experience (or against any experience in a curated set you scope on the listing).
Multi-use vouchers cover several bookings on the same code, so a 10-massage bundle can be sold as one voucher and spread across a season. Each voucher is set up as its own listing, so pricing, photos, and gifting messaging can be tuned per product.
Guests buy a voucher through your Store the same way they'd book an experience, and the confirmation email delivers the voucher code (plus a shareable link, if the voucher is for someone else). The recipient uses the code at booking to redeem it, and can see uses left and redemption history from their Turneo itinerary at any time.
The recipient enters the voucher code at checkout on an eligible experience's booking page, and Turneo checks the code in real time against its scope, uses left, and status. If the voucher covers the booking, it's applied and the guest completes checkout at no additional cost.
Every successful redemption drops the voucher's uses-left count and appears in the buyer's voucher history.
Both. A single-use voucher covers one booking and closes.
A multi-use voucher can be redeemed across separate bookings until the count of uses left hits zero, at which point it flips to "Redeemed". Between states, the voucher shows as "Partially redeemed" with a live count of how many uses are left.
This lets you sell a "10-massage bundle" as a single voucher that spreads across a season.
You define the scope when you create the voucher. It can cover a single experience (spa massage only), a set of experiences (any signature dinner), or your entire active catalogue.
Turneo checks the scope at redemption time (not at purchase), so if you deactivate an experience after selling the voucher, that experience just drops from the redeemable list without breaking the voucher. Vouchers can also include an add-on on the redeemed booking.
Yes, if you set an expiry. Each voucher listing can carry a validity window, so a summer-only voucher expires at the end of September, and a general gift voucher can run 12 months from purchase.
Guests see the expiry at buy-time and again in the voucher lookup. Expired vouchers stop redeeming automatically, and how remaining balance is handled (refund vs.
forfeit) follows your policy.
Either. A voucher is anchored to its code, so whoever holds the code redeems it: buyer, recipient, or someone the recipient forwards it to.
This makes vouchers usable as personal gifts, corporate rewards, staff incentives, and prepaid personal credit ("buy 10 sessions in advance for yourself"). The public voucher-lookup page shows redemption history without exposing individual guest names.
Yes. A corporate buyer can purchase multiple units of the same voucher in one order (say 50 spa vouchers for a company retreat), and Turneo generates a unique code for each unit.
Codes can be exported and distributed by the buyer directly, and each code carries its own uses-left count so redemptions across the batch are tracked independently. Your team sees the whole batch in one order line for reporting.
Every sold voucher is a line on your sales dashboard with its live state (not redeemed, partially redeemed, or redeemed), plus a used/allowed count for multi-use vouchers. Aggregate reports break voucher revenue and redemption rate down by voucher type and date range, so you can see how many gift vouchers converted into bookings this quarter versus last.
Unredeemed liability sits alongside these numbers if you need to reconcile with finance.
Each voucher listing carries its own refund policy in Turneo, expressed as tiers of hours from purchase and a refund percentage, same model as any bookable experience. A "gift for now, use later" voucher might be refundable within 24 hours of purchase then non-refundable; a corporate-bulk order might be fully non-refundable.
Refund policies apply to the voucher purchase, not to redemptions (each redeemed booking follows the redeemed experience's own cancellation policy).
